A new COOP is born!

Many coffee producers in Honduras have no access to other employment. All too often they are forced to abandon their farms and cross the border with thousands of other Hondurans to find jobs. Galana Coffee Company seeks to bring hope to small coffee producers by providing a stable, sustainable export market through direct trade.  This effort started with a small community of coffee growers in the rural community of Cañada Galana, Olancho.  In addition to buying their coffee we have provided training and project funds for improving their coffee production processes.

In December of 2021 the creators of Galana Coffee teamed up with a group of friends and associates to bring hope for a future in coffee exporting to over 20 micro farm coffee producers in various areas of Olancho, Honduras. This is being accomplished through the formation of a new coffee coop called, Elevar (Elevate in english). Currently, Elevar is in the pilot stage. A strategic plan to bring Elevar to 100% self sustainability within five years is being developed. Elevar is exporting 20,000lbs of coffee in this first pilot year!  The dream is for Elevar to double the coffee they export every year so that total independence can be achieved by year five. Galana Coffee Company is one of Elevar's first customers.
